Papal awards to three former Anglican bishops
The clergy of the ordinariate received the news yesterday that papal awards had been given to three former Anglican bishops, now Catholic priests: Fathers Edwin Barnes, Robert Mercer and David Silk. Fr David Silk lives in Torbay and was once Anglican bishop of Ballarat in Australia. The Ordinary commenting on the awards said that they were to acknowledge their former minstry as Anglicans and also to encourage all members of the Ordinariate. The awards mean that they are to be known by the honorary title of "monsignor".
We offer our warm congratulations to our new monsignori !
