Ordination at Buckfast Abbey

Of the five bishops who, during last autumn signified that they were intending to join the Ordinariate, the three who were serving bishops - Keith Newton of Richborough, John Broadhurst of Fulham and Andrew Burnham of Ebbsfleet - have been received into full communion with the Catholic Church and ordained to the diaconate by Bishop Alan Hopes and to the priesthood by the Archbishop of Westminster.

At their ordination on 15 January it was announced that the Ordinariate would be known under the name of Our Lady of Walsingham and that its patron saint would be Blessed John Henry Newman.  The ordinary would be Father Keith Newton.
David Silk, retired Bishop of Ballarat in Australia and Honorary Assistant Bishop in the Diocese of Exeter, was - together with Joyce - received into full communion on 8 January.  He is to be ordained by Bishop Christopher Budd of Plymouth on behalf of Father Keith Newton as the Ordinary. He will be ordained deacon on 15 February and priest on 18 February at Buckfast Abbey at 1100 hrs.  The deaconing will be a fairly low key occasion.  By contrast the priesting will be an open event.  Personal friends and friends of the Ordinariate, both Anglican and Catholic, are most welcome to attend.
Edwin Barnes, formerly bishop of Richborough, is to be ordained priest in Portsmouth Cathedral on 5 March.  Further details will appear as they come to hand.
